I have been trying to be very conscientious about how much time the kids spend indoors and be sure that everyone, including myself, gets enough sunshine, exercise and fresh air. So, yesterday after Eliana’s online school was over and everyone had had lunch, I put us all in shoes and loaded them up in the van to take them to a park. It turned out Bagley Park was (still) closed and I remembered that Eliana needed a “flowy mulberry-colored” top for dance class. We spent some time going through all the aisles of Goodwill looking for a shirt in the appropriate color range without writing on it. I bribed the children with a donut and barely got Eliana to class in time.
Then, I decided to do some of light grocery shopping before her class got out. My shopping list was literally three things; juice, ketchup and mustard—the staples of living with children.
Being that it was the mid-afternoon there weren’t many people in the grocery store. Ivy had spent a lot of time in her car seat by this point and was super wiggly, so I let her walk while I shopped. I ended up getting like $60 worth of stuff and chasing my toddler a bunch. When I checked out, the cashier asked me if I had found everything okay and it occurred to me that I had forgotten the juice.
So no one spent time outside yesterday and I got two out of three items on my shopping while spending enough money for nice meal out. Today is Friday and I don’t care what happens. How’s your week been?
