Acts 3: Better than Gold

In this chapter Peter and John go to the temple and see a man begging. He has been lame from birth, and lives by asking for alms of those entering to worship. Peter asks him to look at them, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” They reach down and take his hand and man gets up and walks, then leaps and praises God.

This is not the first time that the disciples have healed, but it’s the first recorded time since Jesus left.  The crowd is amazed and Peter addresses them telling them about Jesus and how he is the savior promised in scripture that they rejected. Solomon’s Colonnade is also the same location that Jesus taught at and the threatened to stone him for likening himself to God. Peter calls for them to repent and be saved. Like Peter, they’re getting a second chance to make the right choice. The apostle’s ministry starts with the chosen people of God to bless, so through them the whole world will be blessed.

A beautiful day for a new beginning.
