Genesis 2:21 Woman

The Lord caused the man to fall asleep and took his rib and made a woman. The man said “at last, bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh.” He called her woman meaning taken from man. Adam saw himself in Eve.

The text says, “therefore a man shall leave his parents and join this his wife to become one flesh.” And then it says they were naked and without shame.

It’s bittersweet sweet. Nakedness viewed through our modern morality often has lust or shame associated with it. It doesn’t have to be like that. In a healthy marriage where there is mutual care, there can be a comfort level with bodies achieved that is shameless.

The one flesh isn’t entirely metaphorical here, children are literally people made from combined DNA. Two cells recombine to become a new one. Each child is a unique recombination of the parents. This is how everyone in the world is made with the two exceptions being in Genesis, where God makes Eve from Adam, and in the New Testament where God makes Jesus from Mary.
